Description

For Community Languages teachers, volunteers, parents, and carers in NSW Community Language Schools.

This course is specifically designed for persons who work with children. It provides the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response until the arrival of medical assistance.

A. HLTAID012 – Education First Aid, including CPR. Certificate valid 3 years - $130 per participant.

B. HLTAID009 – Perform CPR.

Provide CPR YEARLY REFRESHER COURSE. Course for anyone already holding a CURRENT First Aid certificate and wanting to renew their CPR qualification. Certificate valid 1 year – $70 per participant. 

Classroom training and pre-course online eLearning (to be completed prior to the course date).

Where is the NSW School of Languages located?

The NSW School of Languages is situated at 35 West Street, Petersham NSW. It is conveniently within walking distance from the train station.


Parking Information:


Is there free parking available nearby?

Yes, there is a free car park located at the end of West Street, on the same side as the school. Visitors can park there throughout the day at no charge.


What about street parking?

Street parking is also available in the surrounding area. However, please ensure to adhere to all posted parking signs and restrictions.


Courses Offered:


What are the available courses, and what do they entail?

There are two courses available:


Code HLTAID012: This course covers Education First Aid, including CPR (CPR certificate to be revised annually).

Code HLTAID009: This course is a yearly refresher course focusing solely on CPR. Perform CPR

What is the schedule for the courses?

The HLTAID012 course runs for a specified duration, while the HLTAID009 course, being a refresher, lasts from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM.


What is the training format?

Both courses involve classroom training supplemented by pre-course online eLearning, which participants must complete before the course date.


Attire and Requirements:


What should participants wear?

Due to the practical components of the course, participants are advised to wear comfortable, casual attire.


Are there any items participants should bring?

Yes, participants should bring their lunch, snacks, and beverages as there will be only minimal breaks during the training sessions.

Only cancellations received with at least 48 hours' notice (no later than Friday 9AM - two days before the course) will be eligible for a 100% refund. 

Unique Student Identification number, or USI for short: 

When you complete a First Aid Training you require to have a USI – Unique Student Identifier (by the Australian Government) 

A USI is your individual education number for life. It also gives you an online record of your VET training undertaken in Australia. If you're at university, TAFE, or doing other nationally recognized training, you need a USI.
